My goodness, sometimes chocolate is better than sex. Excuse me, what am I saying? CHOCOLATE is better than sex. There is something to be said about eating chocolate during “Aunt FLOW’S” visit that just makes the world look better and feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

A period is like having a baby, except you never have it. I’ll rather have a baby every 9 months than to go through a cycle every flipping month for the next 40 plus years. DARN IT “Aunt FLOW”

“Sex Chocolate Cry” is simple yet engaging. It’s 28 pages of what men need to read, to understand women just a bit more.” – Dumebi Agabakoba-Ishaku, Editor, Complete Fashion Magazine.

About The Casting Couch

In 2004, the Casting Couch was introduced as a live Sunday night event that showcased national and international talent. Although the show was geared toward individuals established in the performing arts community, Casting Couch encouraged anyone from SoFlo who so desired to perform; spoken word, reading scripts, and excerpts from books or narrations – nothing was out of bounds.  In its infancy the Casting Couch was set in a live talk show atmosphere minus the cameras. After several months the Casting Couch concept was shelved.

In 2012 the idea of the Casting Couch was revisited with vigor. Slightly tweaked The Casting Couch TV Show focused primarily on entertainment industry as it pertains to SoFlo. Shot in beautiful Miami, this show is designed to give hidden talent in South Florida exposure. Although, the main premise is focused on entertainment the show will discuss social issues that affect our society. What makes the Casting Couch unique is that this show is totally interactive and social media driven.

The  WIFF  Opening  Night  screening  of  “Free  Angela”  in  the  Knight  Concert  Hall  of  the  Adrienne  Arsht  Center  will  be  a  rare  treat  for  Florida  audiences.    It  will  be  only  its second  public  screening  in  the  United  States.  It  is  the  only  opportunity  Florida  audiences  can  see  the  film  in  theater.    The  film  will  be  playing  in  seven  other  select cities  nationwide.    The  evening  is  co-hosted  by  Miami-Dade  Commissioner  Barbara  J. Jordan,  District  One.  Proceeds  from  the  event  will  benefit  WIFF’s  “Reel  Girls:  Real Women”  media  literacy  and  film making  program  for  at-risk  girls.

This  year’s  festival  runs  through  March  24,  2013  and  will  showcase  a  rich  assortment  of  films,  including  big  budget  films,  world  cinema,  innovative  independent  films,  international  documentaries,  and  short  films  that  reflect  the  lives  of  women  around  the  world.    Over  the  course  of  5  days,  a  diverse  selection  of  more  than  50  films  will  be  screened  from  more  than  20  countries  including:  Spain,  Italy,  Turkey, Canada,  England,  Russia, France,  Brazil,  Iran,  Haiti,  Germany,  Ecuador,  and  throughout  the  United  States.

In  addition  to  the  screenings,  WIFF  also  offers  film  lovers  five  days  of  events  including  workshops,  panel  discussions,  symposia  and  parties  held  during  the  festival. “We  selected  films  and  events  which  capture  all  aspects  of  women’s  lives  whether  it be  sexuality,  politics,  spirituality,  love,  culture,  identity  and  beauty,”  said  McCormack-Lyons.

About  the  Film

Free  Angela  and  All  Political  Prisoners  is  a  film  by  Shola  Lynch,  presented  by  Realside  Productions  and  De  Films  en  Aiguille,  in  association  with  Direct  Cinema  and  the  participation  of  Direct  8,  with  major  support  from  La  Region  Ile-de-France,  Canal  Plus,  the  Ford  Foundation  and  Black  Entertainment  Television  Networks.    Produced  by  Carole  Lambert,  Shola  Lynch,  Carine  Ruszniewski,  Sidra  Smith.    Directed  and  written  by  Shola  Lynch.    Executive  Producers  Overbrook  Entertainment  and  Roc  Nation.

Hailed  by  the  2012  Toronto  International  Film  Festival  as  “a  fascinating  chronicle  of  justice  and  strength,”  Free Angela  tells  the  dramatic  story  of  how  a  young  professor’s  social  justice  activism  implicates  her  in  a  botched  kidnapping  attempt  that  ends  with  a  bloody  shootout,  four  dead,  and  her  name  on  the  FBI’s  10  most  wanted  list.

In  this  historical  vérité  style  documentary,  marking  the  40th  anniversary  of  her  acquittal  on  charges  of  murder,  kidnapping,  and  conspiracy,  Angela  Davis  recounts  the  politics  ad  actions  that  branded  her  a  terrorist  and  simultaneously  spurred  a  worldwide  movement  for  her  freedom  as  a  political  prisoner.  At  its  core,  the storywrestles  with  the  meaning  of  political  freedom  in  a  democracy  negotiated  between  the  people  and  its  government.  Strong,  attractive,  and  engaging,  Angela  Davis  is  one  such  person  who  became  a  symbol  at  the  center  of  this  still  relevant  power  struggle.

http://www.icypr.com/icyprlogonew11.png

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, AMERICA CAN NOW WATCH
NOLLYWOOD FILMS IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOMES
ON MAJOR CABLE TELEVISION NETWORKS

TIME WARNER, COX CABLE, PARTNERS AND AFFILLIATES WILL PREMIERE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON CABLE TV, 10 TOP-QUALITY NOLLYWOOD MOVIES ON FEBRUARY 1, 2013
TO OVER 40 MILLION NORTH AMERICAN HOMES.

NOLLYWOODONCABLE POSTERprWASHINGTON DC (January 2013) — A welcomed innovation in the entertainment industry is here, as Nollywood movies will now be available on major cable television networks in the U.S. courtesy of Brandcast Media, Inc. Nollywood, the leader in the African movie industry, is currently the third-largest producer of feature films in the world, ranking only behind Hollywood in the United States and India’s Bollywood as number two. Viewers of Time Warner, Cox, partners and affiliate cable television networks will now be able to watch Nollywood movies On-Demand starting February 1st, 2013. This will be a boon to millions of cable subscribers of various cultural orientations in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.

With the addition of Nollywood movies to Cable TV content, Brandcast Media, Inc. aims to generate crossover appeal through the exposure of this unique content to over 40 million North American homes. The movies are carefully selected high quality titles that will end the usual buyer’s remorse viewers experience with some Nollywood movies they purchase without preview. There will be no endless parts, just one complete uninterrupted movie viewing experience. With Cable, Nollywood fans that usually watch the movies online will have no concerns about Internet speed or buffering, just when the viewer is being captivated by the movie. About 80% of the movies to be shown on ‘Nollywood Hits’ have never been seen.

Some of the high quality productions to be featured on Nollywood Hits On Demand include ‘Somewhere in Africa’, ‘Mind Games’, ‘Unwanted Guest’, ‘Married But Living Single,’ etc., and will feature notable actors in the Nollywood Industry such as Genevieve Nnaji, Van Vicker, Funke Akindele, Majid Michel, Joke Silva, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Yvonne Nelson, and so many more.

“The distribution of Nollywood movies on major Cable networks in the U.S. is the next logical stage in the growth of the Nollywood Movie Industry. It’s a dream come true for the many talents in the industry and the vindication of a culture often marginalized in the western market; a real chance for bilateral acculturation and the consequent achievement of crossover appeal for the movies as a cultural export from Africa. Now the world will see the real life and style of Africa in the comfort of their homes”. – Perry Umoh, President & CEO, Brandcast Media Inc.

As a legitimate global distribution channel, Nollywood on major cable television networks will be an emergent answer to Nollywood’s rampant piracy and lack of investment and theatrical release interest. Nollywood’s presence on U.S. cable network giants will impact positively the industry’s revenue growth and address existing piracy issues. These select Nollywood movies will be available On Demand at $3.95 each.
