MIAMI, FL — In recognition of the challenges facing Nigeria’s Film industry, Del-York International co-owned by A-list Nollywood actress Stephanie Okereke, (with support from the Ministry of Information), has entered into an agreement with the world’s most prestigious film-making Academy, the New York Film Academy (NYFA) to bring the Academy’s world-class training courses, facilities and tutors to Abuja, Nigeria on February 1st 2010. Registration for classes have already begun and will end on December, 20th 2009. Orientation for the program will be held from January 18th-29th of 2010 at the prestigious Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Abuja. Classes will begin on the 1st of February, 2010 at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Abuja.

Nigeria will be the first country on the African continent to host the NYFA team to an intensive hands on training workshop on film making, directing, screen writing, editing, broadcast journalism, 3D animation and master classes exclusively designed for professionals, marketing communications executives, lawyers, advertising agencies and government institutions. NYFA will ship world class equipment for the program;-  35mm & 16mm (including RED) film cameras, High Definition (HD) cameras, lighting and sound systems, editing suites, projectors – which are the same used at the leading 4-Year film school.  Designed for a new generation of film makers, screen writers, actors, producers, copy writers, creative directors and animators who share a passion for motion pictures, the training model allows all participants to achieve more in less time than any other University, Institute or School in the world. Each student will conceive, produce, direct and edit a new media project in one week.

NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY

The Film School at the New York Film Academy was founded in 1992 on a belief that a top quality education in filmmaking should be accessible to anyone with the drive and ambition to make films. The Academy opened its doors in 1992 in Robert DeNiro‘s Tribeca Film Center. Since that time they have grown into their own facilities in Manhattan‘s Union Square and Soho. NYFA also opened Film Academies at Universal Studios in Los Angeles and London UK, England.  Today, little more than a decade after the first students graduated, the New York Film Academy is considered one of the most prominent fixtures of film education in the world.

WIFF (Women’s International Film & Arts Festival)

WIFF-Hello Icy readers. We are excited to announce that ICY Public Relations is the official PR company for the Women’s International Film Festival. (www.wiffonline.org) We look forward to this exceptional event (March 25-April 2, 2010) and we will keep you up-to-date. With over 400 films already in, this  5th year anniversary is going to be especially unique. Let the filming begin.

The Women’s International Film & Arts Festival (WIFF) is a unique, cultural event featuring films, visual and performance arts and other artistic expressions by women. It is one of only two film festivals
in the Southeastern United States specifically dedicated to women, recognizing their brilliance and accomplishments. Held annually during Women’s History month, the event is designed to celebrate
women and to help them realize their dreams, visions and voices. With women representing only 7% of film directors, every effort should be made to enhance the opportunity for women’s voices to be heard, and to present a wider range of roles and identity choices for women. Through panel discussions, workshops, and symposia, WIFF’s goals include empowering women of all ages to see themselves in a broader context.
